Video Production Education Scholarships

The Video Production Education Scholarship is designed to provide aspiring individuals with the skills, knowledge, and opportunities needed to excel in the field of video production. The scope includes educational empowerment, skill development, and professional advancement.

Scholarship Objectives​

The key objectives of the Video Production Education Grant are as follows:

  • Educational Empowerment: To provide financial support for individuals seeking to enroll in workshops, undergraduate and graduate programs, seminars, and certificate courses related to video production.
  • Skill Development: To foster the development of practical and creative skills in video production, including cinematography, editing, sound design, storytelling, and technical proficiency.
  • Professional Advancement: To equip individuals with the credentials and capabilities necessary to succeed in a competitive industry, preparing them for rewarding careers in film, television, digital media, and beyond.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible applicants for the grant include individuals with a demonstrated interest in video production. Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Sacramento County residents 16 years of age and above seeking to enhance their skills and proficiency in video and television production are eligible to apply for the Video Production Education grant.
  • Articulate a clear educational pathway, including the specific workshops, programs, seminars, or certificate courses they intend to pursue
  • Showcase a strong commitment to video production and a desire to contribute to the field through creative storytelling and innovative content creation

Allowable Expenses

The Video Production Education Grant covers a range of allowable expenses related to educational endeavors in the field of video production, including:

  • Workshop Fees: Covering tuition and participation costs for hands-on workshops that focus on video production.​
  • Undergraduate and Graduate Programs: Supporting tuition and fees associated with pursuing a degree in film studies, media production, visual arts, or related fields at accredited institutions.
  • Seminars and Conferences: Funding attendance at industry-specific seminars, conferences, and events that provide networking opportunities, knowledge sharing, and exposure to the latest trends and technologies.
  • Certificate Programs: Covering expenses for enrolling in specialized certificate programs that offer training in video production.
  • Educational Materials: Supporting the purchase of textbooks, software, digital tools, and learning resources essential for the completion of the chosen educational program.​
  • Travel and Accommodations: Providing financial assistance for travel, accommodation, and related expenses for individuals attending workshops or programs in different locations.​
